Biography

Phillip Bent, born on September 16, 1964, in London, is a British jazz flautist. He studied at the Weekend Arts College from 1982 to 1986 and later at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. By age 18, Phillip Bent was working as a studio musician, collaborating with artists such as Womack & Womack and Ronnie Jordan. In the 1980s, he was part of the GRP All Star Big Band and the Jazz Warriors. Phillip Bent also founded his own quintet in 1987, touring extensively. He released his debut album The Pressure under his own name on GRP Records in 1993.
