Rafael Castillo Torres (September 17, 1984) is an American-born reggaeton artist who performs under the stage name De la Ghetto. Born in New York City and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he initially rose to fame as one half of the reggaeton duo Arcángel & De la Ghetto, which appeared in several compilations and released their studio debut Las Nuevas Amenazas in 2007. After parting ways with Arcángel later that year, De la Ghetto featured in a remix of Tito el Bambino's "Siente el Boom" and dropped his solo debut Masacre Musical in 2008. Driven by the hit single "Tú Te Imaginas," Masacre Musical reached Number 46 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums Chart and was followed by the 2013 mixtape Geezy Boyz: The Album. Featuring cameos by Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, J Balvin, and Maluma, his second full-length Mi Movimiento cracked the Top 5 of the Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums chart and received a nomination to the Latin Grammys in the category of Best Urban Music Album. Over the next few years, De la Ghetto issued a fourth album titled Los Chulitos (2020) and continued to collaborate extensively with some of the biggest names in reggaeton, releasing the song "Loco por Perrearte" with Rauw Alejandro in 2022. This was followed by 2023's GZ, featuring contributions from Quevedo, Hector "El Father," Lyanno, Arcángel, Villano Antillano, Myke Towers, Hades66, Amarion, and Dei V. From 2025 onward, De la Ghetto shifted into a tightly framed release strategy built around a three-part album concept: Daylight (2025) set the tone with a brighter, summer-leaning palette and included the JC Reyes collaboration âRomper T,â then Moonlight (2025) flipped the mood into late-night reggaetón and club textures with guest spots like Sech on âCopyrightâ and Mora on âElegante,â supported by a high-visibility live launch in Puerto Rico. He closed that trilogy with Starlight (2025), which tied the two aesthetics together and spotlighted âComernosâ with Arcángelâanother key moment in their long-running chemistry.
