English Evenings was a British new wave and synth-pop duo formed in 1983, consisting of Graham Lee and Lee Walsh. Before English Evenings, Walsh was part of the band Sly Fox, which later changed its name to One Adult. The duo secured a record deal under the name English Evenings and released their debut single "English Evenings" in 1983. They went on to release several more singles, including "What's the Matter with Helen?", "Touch" and "Tear You Down". In 1985, they released their sole studio album, After Dark, under Safari Records, produced by Phil Harding. Despite their efforts, English Evenings did not achieve significant success. After disbanding, Lee Walsh and Graham Lee collaborated on a football song for Leeds United in 1990, entitled "We Are Leeds".
