Minny Pops, a Dutch electronic music group from Amsterdam, was formed in 1978 by vocalist/songwriter/programmer Wally van Middendorp. Their first commercially released recording was the "Kojak" single issued in 1979 on Plurex, an independent label founded by van Middendorp. The band's debut album, Drastic Measures, Drastic Movement, followed later that year. After opening for Joy Division, Minny Pops signed with Factory Records, releasing notable singles like "Dolphin's Spurt" and "Secret Story". They toured extensively in the early 1980s, performing with acts such as New Order and Suicide. Their album Sparks in a Dark Room was released in 1982. By 2014, Minny Pops had evolved into a collective with various collaborators across Europe and the US. In 2021, they released Stockholm 1974.
