Biography
Emperor is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1991 by drummer Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen, guitarist and vocalist Vegard Sverre Tveitan and bassist HÃ¥vard Ellefsen. The band's 1992 demo Wrath of the Tyrant led to a record deal with Candlelight Records. The debut album, In the Nightside Eclipse (1994), was released while several members were incarcerated. Emperor followed this with the albums Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk (1997) and Prometheus â The Discipline of Fire & Demise (2001). The band also released the EP Reverence (1997), and other tracks from their discography include "The Source of Icon E" (1999) and "The Warriors of Modern Death" (1999). The group disbanded in 2001 but reformed in 2005 for selective live performances.
