Embodyment was a Christian rock band from Arlington, Texas, formed in 1992 under the name Supplication. They initially played death metal but changed their style for Embrace the Eternal, released in 1998 on Solid State Records. This album is credited as one of the earliest deathcore releases. The band's lineup evolved over time, with Sean Corbray joining as vocalist for their second album, The Narrow Scope of Things (2000), which shifted towards alternative rock and nu metal styles. Their third album, Hold Your Breath, was released in 2001. Embodyment's final album, Songs for the Living, came out in 2002 on XS Records. The band disbanded in 2004 due to burnout from constant touring and a shift in musical style.
