Biography

The Crucified, a Christian hardcore and crossover thrash band from Fresno, California, formed in 1984 with vocalist Mark Salomon, guitarist Greg Minier, bassist Kirk Palmer, and drummer Jim Chaffin. Initially known as K.G.B., the band changed their name to The Crucified after recruiting Salomon as the new vocalist. In 1986, they released their first demo tape, Take up Your Cross, followed by Nailed in 1987. Their debut album, The Crucified, was released in 1989 under Narrowpath Records and featured appearances at the Cornerstone Festival. The band's second studio album, The Pillars of Humanity, was released in 1991 on Ocean Records. Personal differences led to the band's breakup in 1993. In 2009, The Crucified reunited and acquired rights to re-release their music, culminating in the box-set The Complete Collection and a reissue of The Pillars of Humanity.
