Biography

Dubtribe Sound System is an electronic musical group from San Francisco formed in 1991 by Sunshine Jones and Moonbeam Jones. The duo organized the DIY Come Unity events before releasing the single "Mother Earth" in 1993. In 1996, the ensemble released the EP Momentito, por favor. The group released its fifth studio album, Bryant Street, in 1999, which included the track "Equitoreal". Following a disagreement regarding a commercial license, the band ended its partnership with BMG. In 2001, the group released the song "Do It Now" with Defected Records Ltd. Dubtribe Sound System performed its final concert of the period in December 2005 and became inactive. The duo resumed activity for a performance in 2009 and performed several shows between 2010 and 2013.
