Biography

Richard Alexander Jung, known professionally as Dr. Ring Ding, was born on June 2, 1970, in Germany and is a singer specializing in dancehall, reggae music, ska, and world music. He began his musical journey at the age of six playing the recorder, later switching to trumpet and trombone. In 1987, Jung joined the German ska band El Bosso & die Ping-Pongs as a trombonist and second front man under the stage name Prof. Richie Senior. Dr. Ring Ding formed Dr. Ring-Ding & The Senior Allstars in 1992, which became prolific until their split in October 2002. Throughout his career, he collaborated with notable artists including Lord Tanamo, Derrick Morgan, and Laurel Aitken. His cover of "Ring of Fire" with H-Blockx reached number 13 on the German charts. Dr. Ring Ding has also worked as a producer and studio musician for various bands, regularly touring Europe, North America, and Asia.
