Donora is an American indie pop, indie rock, and shoegaze band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, formed in 2006. The group consists of vocalist and guitarist Casey Hanner, her brother, drummer Jake Hanner, and bassist Jake Churton. The trio first gained visibility in 2006 as semifinalists in the "Calling All Bands" contest for the song "She's Just a Girl". The ensemble released its debut studio album, Donora, in December 2008 through Rostrum Records. The work received regular airplay on the radio station WYEP-FM. Casey Hanner and Jake Hanner are the children of country musician Dave Hanner of the duo Corbin/Hanner. The band's second studio album, Boyfriends, Girlfriends, followed in 2011. In 2013, the group released the EP Play Nice, which was supported by a sold-out tour. The band's subsequent discography includes the studio albums Ha Ha Heart (2014) and Sun To Me (2017). The group's name was inspired by a road sign for the town of Donora, Pennsylvania, located south of Pittsburgh.
