Biography

Donna Regina is a German electronic pop duo consisting of married couple Regina and Günther Janssen. The couple began their music career with the release of the single "Avec Le Temps" in 1990. Their debut album, Lazing Away, followed in 1992. The duo gained significant popularity in Japan, performing their first live concert in Tokyo in late 1996 and having their music featured in a Nissan commercial. In 2002, the video for "Why" directed by Graw Böckler won the first prize at the MuVi Awards during the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. Regina Jannsen has also collaborated with various artists, including Wolfgang Flür and Michael Lückner. The duo's album The Decline of Female Happiness (2010) references the study "The Paradox of Declining Female Happiness" by Betsey Stevenson and Justin Wolfers.
