Divino is an American reggaeton and Latin trap artist. He was born Daniel Velázquez on August 7, 1977, in New York City, New York. He moved from The Bronx to Ponce, Puerto Rico with his family at the age of 15. His brother, a performer by the name of K2 Young, had already started performing in the local scene when he was tragically killed in 1999. Divino decided to honor his brotherâs legacy and started performing with some of his brotherâs associates, including DJ Playero and Baby Ranks. Divinoâs impressive voice contributed to the success of the song âQuiero Esa Nena,â and he became an in-demand collaborator within the Latin urban scene. In 2002, Divino released the song âQuiero Saberâ for the compilation album MVP, which was a surprise success and led to a record deal. He released his solo album Todo a Su Tiempo in 2003, which included various hits such as the Daddy Yankee collaboration âSe Activaron los Anormales.â Todo a Su Tiempo achieved gold status and earned two nominations for the 2004 Billboard Awards. In 2010, Divino released his follow-up solo album Por Experiencias Propias, focusing more on ballads and tropical pop sounds. In 2014, he joined Baby Rasta and Gringo on the track âTe Deseo Lo Mejor,â his first release for the Eme Music label.
