Biography
Die Bandbreite was a German hip-hop duo from Duisburg, consisting of Torben Eckhoff, known as DJ Torben, and Marcel Wojnarowicz, who performed under the stage name Wojna. The group began in 1999 with both members having solo activities before forming Die Bandbreite. Their first release together was on the sampler Kommt in die Pötte in 2000. In 2008, they released their album Hexenjagd, which included the single "Dat is Duisburg", described by the Neue Ruhr Zeitung as an unofficial anthem for the city. The band's subsequent albums include Reflexion (2011) and Art aber Fair (2013). Die Bandbreite gained significant attention with their song "Was ist los in diesem Land" which reached third place on the Liederbestenliste in August 2010. Their final concert was held in September 2023 at the NuoViso Sommerfest.
