Deyvis Juniors Orosco Atanacio, born 8 September 1986 in Lima, Lima, Peru, is a Peruvian singer and actor who emerged as the lead vocalist of the cumbia orchestra Grupo Néctar after the tragic accident that claimed his father, Johnny Orosco, and the groupâs original members. His first notable recordings appeared in 2006 with the project Huellas de amor, later renamed Gotitas de lluvia, marking his entry into the music scene. In 2012 he released the album Por Siempre y para Siempre, Vol. 2, followed by No Te Creas Tan Importante in 2019, both of which consolidated his presence in the worldâmusic genre. The single "Amor a Primera Vista" (2020) and "Caprichito" (2020) achieved significant radio play, while "De Mi Te Vas a Enamorar" (2020) and "Pecadora" (2020) showcased his versatility across contemporary and traditional styles. Deyvis collaborated with artists such as Corazón Serrano and Jota Benz, and participated in the film Somos Néctar (2017) and the television series La pre, expanding his reach beyond music. His performances, including the annual Homenaje a Johnny Orosco tribute shows, have been noted for their cultural impact within Peruvian popular music as his work continued to influence the cumbia scene in Latin America. In late 2023, he expanded his media profile again with the announcement of the biographical series Tu nombre y el mÃo, then in 2024 he supported that chapter with the single âTu Nombre y el MÃoâ and a run of live-oriented and thematic releases such as Desde el JardÃn, Vol. I and Desde el JardÃn, Vol. II, plus plaza-style recordings like Desde La Plaza Edición Chorrillos and Domingos de Fiesta.
