Biography
Demonoid is a Swedish black metal band founded in 2002, deriving influences from traditional death metal, thrash metal, and extreme metal. The group was initiated by Therion guitarist Kristian Niemann, who sought to produce more brutal music with his brother Johan Niemann. Fellow Therion member Christofer Johnsson later joined the project along with drummer Rickard Evensand. Demonoid released their debut album, Riders of the Apocalypse, in 2004, which explored themes related to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In 2006, Christofer Johnsson left Demonoid, and Emperor Magus Caligula of Dark Funeral was announced as his replacement in 2007 but he also left in 2012. That same year, Mario Santos Ramos joined as vocalist.
