Biography

Deep Sea Arcade, an Australian psychedelic band from Sydney, was formed in 2008 by Nic McKenzie and Nick Weaver. The duo began as a home recording project using four-track tape recorders and analog synths. In 2012, Deep Sea Arcade released their first full-length album, Outlands, through Ivy League Records, which received worldwide distribution. The band embarked on extensive tours across Australia, the UK, and Europe. Their second album, Blacklight, was released in October 2018, co-produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Eric J and featuring Matt Johnson on drums. Weaver left the band in 2018 and passed away from cancer at the age of 37 in 2021. In 2024, McKenzie announced a vinyl reissue of Outlands through Impressed Recordings.
