Deborahe Elizabeth Glasgow, born on January 19, 1966, was an English lovers rock singer of Guyanese parentage. She started her career in her mid-teens with the single "Fallin' in Love" under the name Debbie G for producer Mad Professor's Ariwa label. Glasgow gained a following through the local sound system circuit and signed with Greensleeves Records' Bubblers subsidiary, releasing popular singles like "Knight in Shining Armour" (1986), âDonât Stay Awayâ (1987), and "When Somebody Loves You Back" (1988). Her debut album Deborahe Glasgow was released in 1989. One of the albumâs tracks, "Champion Lover", was later recut by Shabba Ranks as "Mr. Loverman" in 1990. She passed away on January 25, 1994, due to complications from lymphatic cancer.
