Biography

Darren Hayman, born on December 1, 1970, in England, is a singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was the lead vocalist and primary songwriter for the UK indie rock band Hefner, which released four studio albums before disbanding in 2002. Hayman released his debut solo album Table for One in 2006. His second solo effort, Darren Hayman & the Secondary Modern, was released in 2007 and featured guest appearances from John Howard and Pete Astor. In 2009, he released Pram Town, the first part of his "Essex Trilogy," exploring themes of high and low ambition. The trilogy continued with Essex Arms in 2010, which included contributions from Emmy the Great and Fanfarlo. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists including The Wave Pictures.
