Daniel Deacon, born August 28, 1981, in West Babylon, New York, is as an American electronic musician and composer. He attended the Conservatory of Music at State University of New York at Purchase. His breakthrough came with his first commercially distributed full-length album, Spiderman of the Rings (2007). This album was well-received and included in Pitchfork's "Best New Music" section, ranking number 24 on their "Top 50 Albums of 2007". Deacon released subsequent albums such as Bromst (2009), America (2012), and Gliss Riffer (2015). His work includes collaborations with various artists and notable film scores for documentaries like All Light, Everywhere (2021) and Ascension (2021).
