Amiel Muki Daemion, known professionally as Amiel, was born on August 13, 1979, in New York City. She is an American-born Australian pop singer and songwriter who moved to Australia with her family at the age of two. Her early exposure to music came from her parents, both musicians, which fostered her interest in performing. Amiel's first significant role was in the film The Silver Brumby alongside Russell Crowe. Amiel Muki Daemion's music career began in 1995 when she collaborated with producer Josh Abrahams on backing vocals for a song he was producing. This led to their collaboration on "Addicted to Bass", released as Puretone, which became a top twenty hit in Australia and was nominated for two ARIA Awards in 1999. In 2003, Amiel Muki Daemion released her debut solo album Audio Out, which debuted in the top twenty on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart and was certified gold by ARIA. The album's lead single "Lovesong" became a Number 1 hit in Australia and earned Amiel five ARIA Award nominations.
In 2005, Amiel Muki Daemion released her second studio album These Ties. Her subsequent albums include Be Your Girl (2006), as well as the EPs Obsession and Round And Round (both 2007). Notable singles from these releases include "Tonight". She has not released any music since then.
