Curtis Rae Hasselbring, born July 12, 1965 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is an American jazz trombonist, guitarist and composer. He began playing trombone and guitar at a young age, studying formally at the New England Conservatory and graduating in 1988. His early career included collaborations with Charlie Kohlhase and the Either/Orchestra. Hasselbring earned a master's degree from Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts (1991-1993), during which he began working with notable musicians such as Chris Speed, Bobby Previte, Cuong Vu, and Satoko Fujii. He led several ensembles including The New Mellow Edwards, Decoupage, and Curhachestra. Hasselbring released his debut album The New Mellow Edwards in 2006, followed by Big Choantza (2009) and Number Stations (2013). He also produced electronic music albums under the name "Curha."
