Biography

Crack Cloud, a Canadian multimedia collective based in Calgary, Alberta, was formed in 2015 by drummer and frontman Zach Choy. Initially starting as Zach Choy's solo project, Crack Cloud evolved into a collaborative effort with various members meeting through addiction recovery and mental health programs. The group released their first self-titled EP in 2016, followed by Anchoring Point in 2017. These EPs were re-released as a compilation via Deranged and Tin Angel/Meat Machine Records in June 2018. Crack Cloud's debut studio album, Pain Olympics, was released in 2020 via Meat Machine Records, receiving an average score of 87 on Metacritic. The group won the Hi-Fidelity Award at the 2021 Prism Prize for their innovative music videos. Their second album, Tough Baby, was released in September 2022, and they signed with American independent label Jagjaguwar in May 2024, releasing their third studio album, Red Mile (2024). In 2026, Crack Cloud released Peace and Purpose.
