Biography
La Sarita, originally known as Sarita Colonia, is a Peruvian punk rock and rock fusion group formed in 1997 in El Agustino, Lima. The band gained recognition in 1998 and released their debut album Más Poder in 1999, which received positive reviews. In 2000, La Sarita opened for Manu Chao in Lima and made their international debut at the "Hombre y desarrollo" event in Helsinki, Finland. They also performed at Rock al Parque in Bogotá, Colombia. After a brief hiatus in 2001 and 2002, La Sarita returned with their second album Danza la Raza in 2003. The band continued to tour extensively, including performances at the Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara in Mexico and various festivals across Europe.
