Courtney Alexis Stodden is an American singer born on August 29, 1994, in Tacoma, Washington. From a young age, Stodden showed a passion for singing and writing music. In 2010, Stodden released several original songs including "Car Candy", "Crazy", "Don't Put It on Me", "Hurting People", and "We Are America". "Don't Put It on Me" was ranked number 11 by Star Observer on their list of The 11 Best Songs of '11. In 2018, Stodden released their debut album Off the Record under the moniker Ember. Their other notable single releases include "Reality" (2012) and "Pleasure" (2021).
