Clive Griffin, born on December 30, 1961, is a British soul singer best known for his 1993 hit duet "When I Fall in Love" with Celine Dion, which reached number 23 on the US charts. Discovered by producer Richard Niles, Griffin signed with Mercury Phonogram Records and released his debut album Step By Step in the late 1980s. The album, featuring singles like "Head Above Water" and "Don't Make Me Wait," sold 10,000 copies in the UK and showcased Clive Griffin's smooth, soulful voice. His follow-up album, Inside Out, saw less commercial success, leading to the end of his contract with Phonogram. However, Griffin's career saw a resurgence in 1992 when he toured with Eric Clapton and later signed with Sony Records. His third and final album, Clive Griffin (1993), included the Diane Warren-penned tracks "Commitment of the Heart" and "We Don't Know How to Say Goodbye." Although Griffin stepped away from the limelight after this release, he contributed guest vocals on notable tracks like Take That's "Never Forget" and Kylie Minogue's "Your Disco Needs You," as well as session work for other artists, leaving a lasting mark on the soul and pop music scenes.
