Clarita Crisostomo Dela Fuente-De Guzman (December 28, 1958 â March 30, 2021), known professionally as Claire dela Fuente, was a Filipino OPM singer and businesswoman from Caloocan. Dela Fuente won a singing contest at the University of the East at age 15 with a performance of the Carpenters song âLove Me for What I Amâ. She performed the jingle for a Hope cigarette commercial in 1978. Dela Fuente released the debut album Sayang in 1978, featuring the single âSayangâ. She earned the nicknames âQueen of Tagalog Songsâ and âAsia's Sweetest Voiceâ. After retiring from entertainment in her 20s, dela Fuente established the Philippine Corinthian Liner bus company and several restaurants. She resumed her music career in 2006 and collaborated with Richard Carpenter for the 2008 album Something in Your Eyes. Dela Fuente died in Las Piñas on March 30, 2021.
