Mauricio Enrique Castillo Moya, known professionally as Chinoy, and born on January 11, 1981, in San Antonio, Chile, is a singer-songwriter. He began his musical journey in Placilla de San Antonio with the local punk band Don Nadie. In 2005, he gained attention after performing with Argentine band Loquero and later moved to ValparaÃso to study art. Chinoy gained national recognition when filmmaker Andrés Wood invited him to compose music for the film La buena vida in 2008, which led to appearances at significant events such as the Festival de Solistas en Solitario and the Cumbre del Rock Chileno. His debut album, Que salgan los dragones, was released in 2009, followed by Chinoy en Bogotá (2010) and De loco medieval (2015).
