Biography

Born Joyce Pruneau in Shawinigan (Canada) on October 13, 1953, Chatelaine is a pop singer from Quebec. She began her career singing in cabarets. Her first hit came in 1977 with the song " Corps à corps ", a cover of Raffaella Carrà's Italian hit " A Far l'Amore Comincia Tu ". That same year, she scored another hit with the single " I Wouldn't Give You Up ", a cover of Goldie Alexander's English-language song of the same title. The following year, she covered the American group Raydio's hit " Jack and Jill " in French, and her version spent 3 weeks in the Quebec charts. In 1980, she recorded the song " Devant le jukebox " as a duet with singer Guy Boucher, a song he had sung as a duet with Ginette Sage in the 1960s. After a hiatus from the music business in the 1990s and 2000s, she returned to the stage for La Tournée des Idoles in the 2010s, bringing together Quebec and French stars from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
