BenjamÃn "ChamÃn" Correa, born on December 4, 1929, in Mexico, was a guitarist. He began playing guitar at five, studying under his father and later his maternal grandfather. In 1954, Correa joined Los Tres Caballeros with Roberto Cantoral and Leonel Gálvez, earning four golden discs by 1957. Correa's career spanned over six decades, releasing albums like 20 éxitos (2000) and Cuerdas, amor y guitarra (2005). He collaborated with artists such as Dave Brubeck, Joan Baez, Gloria Estefan, José José, Enrique Guzmán, and Luis Miguel. His popular songs include "El reloj" and "La barca". Correa also served as an artistic director for thirty years. Correa passed away on January 14, 2020, in Cuernavaca, Morelos, at the age of 90 due to pulmonary emphysema.
