Biography
Carmen Delia Dipinà Piñero, was a Puerto Rican singer born on November 18, 1927, in Naguabo. She made her radio debut in San Juan at 14 and moved to New York City in 1948, winning a talent show at the Triboro Theater. This led to her first recording "El DÃa Que Nacà Yo" with Johnny Albino y El TrÃo San Juan. Dipinà later recorded for Seeco Records and joined Johnny RodrÃguez's band, releasing notable songs such as "Fichas Negras," "Son Amores," and "DÃmelo." She lived in Mexico for seven years, recording with Columbia Records and RCA-Victor Records, including the hit "Especialmente Para Ti." Upon returning to Puerto Rico, she collaborated with Tito RodrÃguez and Los Hispanos. Dipinà passed away on August 4, 1998. In 2002, Carmen Delia Dipinà was inducted into the International Latin Music Hall of Fame.
