Biography

Chad Fowler, born on May 11, 1974, is an American jazz musician, saxophonist, and composer. He began playing saxophone in Sherwood in the mid-1980s and was active in both his high school's jazz bands and the local punk scene with the band Step by Step. Fowler studied at the University of Memphis alongside Christopher Parker, forming a band that initially focused on blues and soul music. After working internationally in the IT industry, he returned to Arkansas in 2016 and co-founded the group Dopolarians with Parker and Kelley Hurt. The Dopolarians released two albums, Garden Party (2019) and The Bond (2021), on Fowler's label Mahakala Music. Since then, he has released several albums, including Old Stories (2022) with Matthew Shipp.
