Biography
An Australian band of psychedelic, krautrock and jazz inspiration, Brown Spirits consists of Tim Wold (guitar, keyboards), Agostino Soldati (drums) and Ash Buscombe (bass). Hailing from Coburg, a suburb of Melbourne (Victoria), the band signed three all-instrumental albums for German label Clostridium Records, Brown Spirits/Vol 1 (2017), Vol 3 and Vol 2 (2020), before landing on Soul Jazz Records. Multi-instrumentalist Tim Wold, who has previously played in Russian Roulettes and other bands, uses multiple effects on guitar or synthesizer and organ, to create the hypnotic layers of sound on the first recordings made in a 4-track studio. Arriving after these sessions, Ash Buscombe takes part in the recording of the fourth album Solitary Transmissions (2023), followed by Cosmic Seeds in 2025.
