Biography

Created by the songwriting and production trio Stock-Aitken-Waterman, Boy Krazy was a short-lived success, just long enough to slip three hits into the charts. Formed in New York in 1991, the girl band included singers Kimberly Blake, Josselyne Jones, Johnna Lee Cummings, Ruth Ann Roberts (former Miss Junior America) and Renée Veneziale, who left the same year. After a first version ranked #86 in the UK, "That's What Love Can Do" became a major hit with its 1993 remix, ranked #18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #7 in Canada. Meanwhile, the band scored another minor hit in 1992 with "All You Have to Do", charting at no. 91 in the UK. The popularity of "That's What Love Can Do" led to the recording of a single album, Boy Krazy (1993), featuring another chart-topping single with "Good Time with Bad Boys", which reached #59 in the U.S. and #32 in Canada. The departure of Johnna Lee Cummings, who pursued a solo career under the name Johnna with the album Pride (1996), led to the break-up of the band, which attempted to record a second album, but without success.
