Biography

Bloodthirsty Butchers, a Japanese rock band from Sapporo, Hokkaidō, was formed in 1986 by Hideki Yoshimura, Takeshi Imoriya, and Kiyomi Sano. Their debut album, Bloodthirsty Butchers, was released in May 1990, followed by releases including I'm Standing Nowhere (1993), Lukewarm Wind (1994), and Kocorono (1996). The band gained international recognition with contributions to compilations on the Olympia, Washington-based Yoyo label. Notable collaborations included a split single with Rocket from the Crypt and an EP with +/-. In 2003, Hisako Tabuchi joined as an additional guitarist. Bloodthirsty Butchers continued releasing albums such as Birdy (2004) and Guitarist wo Korosanaide (2007). The band's final album, Youth, was released in November 2013 following the sudden death of Hideki Yoshimura from acute cardiac failure on May 27, 2013.
