Black Randy & The Metrosquad was an American punk rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1977 with John Morris, known as Black Randy, as frontman. Their debut single "Trouble at the Cup" was released that same year. In 1978, they released the EP Idi Amin, and in 1979, their album Pass The Dust, I Think I'm Bowie was released by Dangerhouse Records. The band gained notoriety for their surreal humor and eclectic music style. They appeared in the 1981 film Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains, performing "I Slept in an Arcade". Black Randy & The Metrosquad disbanded in mid-1982 due to Morris's struggles with drug and alcohol problems. Morris died on November 11, 1988, from complications related to AIDS. Pass The Dust, I Think I'm Bowie was reissued multiple times posthumously.
