Beverly Glenn-Copeland, born in January 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and pianist. He began his career as a folk singer incorporating jazz, classical, and blues elements. In 1961, he was one of the first black students to study at McGill University in Montreal. Glenn-Copeland released his debut album Beverly Copeland in 1970 followed by Beverly Glenn-Copeland in 1971. His electronic album Keyboard Fantasies, recorded using equipment including a Yamaha DX7 and a Roland TR-707, was released in 1986. The album gained renewed attention in 2015 when it was rediscovered and promoted by Japanese record collector Ryota Masuko. In 2020, Keyboard Fantasies won the public vote for the Polaris Heritage Prize at the Polaris Music Prize.
