Biography

Jeff Pearce is an Indiana-based ambient and New Age musician known primarily as a guitarist. He began playing guitar at age 13 and discovered the music of Brian Eno and Harold Budd while in college. His first album, Tenderness and Fatality, was released in 1993, and for his next several releases he focused on creating music using only electric guitar. Pearce’s albums raised his profile in the New Age/ambient genre. His 2000 album, To the Shores of Heaven, was voted “Favorite CD of the Year” by listeners of NPR’s Echoes program. He also became known for his work on the Alto Chapman Stick, composing for it on albums such as Lingering Light (2005) and Rainshadow Sky (2008). His 2014 release, With Evening Above, was the #1 airplay New Age album of 2014 and won “Ambient Album of 2014” at the Zone Music Reporter Awards.
