Biography

Berluc was a German rock band formed in the mid-1960s. Originally a jazz group from Berlin and Luckenwalde, the band derived its name from the initial letters of these cities. Berluc gained national attention in 1978 with the song "Hallo Erde, hier ist Alpha", which reached Number 1 on the Radio DDR-Tip-Parade seven times. Their debut album, Reise zu den Sternen, was released in 1979 under the label Amiga and was noted for its hard rock sound. In 1983, "No Bomb" became one of the first metal hits in the DDR, topping the annual hit parade. The band toured extensively, including a trip through the Soviet Union in 1984. Berluc disbanded briefly before reuniting in 1993.
