MarÃa Isabelle Pérez Cerezo, known professionally as Belle Pérez, was born on January 29, 1976, in Neerpelt, Belgium. She is a Belgian musician and songwriter of Spanish descent who gained prominence through her participation in the Belgian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1999 with "Hello World". Before releasing her debut album, Pérez launched two promotional singles in 1998: "Don't give up on love" and "Me and you", which garnered positive reception despite limited promotion. Her breakthrough came with Hello World (2000), featuring the hit single "Hello World" and its Spanish version "Hola mundo". Subsequent albums included Everything (2001), which featured collaborations like "Me and you" with Jody Bernal, and Baila Perez (2003), marking her transition into the Spanish market.
