Bark Psychosis, a post-rock band from Snaresbrook, Essex, United Kingdom, was formed in 1986 by Graham Sutton and John Ling. The duo began experimenting with music using a four-track recorder and a drum machine while still in school. In January 1988, they left school to focus on their musical endeavors full-time, recruiting Mark Simnett as the drummer. Their first release was the flexi-disc Clawhammer in 1988, followed by the single "All Different Things/By Blow" in 1989. Bark Psychosis gained recognition for their seminal album Hex, released on February 14, 1994, which is considered a key work in defining the post-rock genre. The band's sound evolved through various styles, including minimalism, indie rock, and electronic dance music, characterized by atmospheric textures and dynamic range. Notable songs include "I Know" and "Murder City". Throughout their career, Bark Psychosis collaborated with musicians such as Colin Bradley and Lee Harris.
