Biography

Barbie's Cradle was a Filipino alternative rock band from Manila, Philippines, formed in 1998 by Barbie Almalbis, following the dissolution of her previous band, Hungry Young Poets. The initial lineup included Almalbis on vocals and guitar, Rommel de la Cruz on bass, and Franklin Benitez on drums. Their debut album, Barbie's Cradle (1999), was released shortly after. The band gained attention with their second album, Music from the Buffet Table (2000), which featured Christian-themed lyrics. This theme continued with their third album, Playing in the Fields (2003). In 2005, Kakoi Legaspi joined as a second guitarist, but Almalbis soon pursued a solo career, leading to the band's disbandment. Their final performance was at a benefit concert for the Philippine National Red Cross.
