Biography

Eliane Baek Ye-rin (June 26, 1997), aka Yerin Baek, is a South Korean singer-songwriter who gained notoriety as one half of the K-pop duo 15&. Unlike many of her contemporaries, she is known for composing and writing the lyrics for most of her songs. Born in the Jung District in Daejeon, she became a trainee for JYP Entertainment during her early childhood thanks to a stellar performance of Beyoncé's "Listen" on the variety show Amazing Contest Star King in 2007. After five years of intensive training, she was announced as a member of the R&B duo 15& along Park Ji-min. The group made their debut in 2012 with the single “I Dream” and reached the Top 10 of the Gaon charts with their first album Sugar, released in 2014. Following 15&’s disbandment in 2015, Yerin Baek made her debut as a solo artist with the EP Frank (2015), which spawned the single “Across the Universe.” In the subsequent years, she became the frontwoman for the Korean rock outfit The Volunteers and released the EP Our Love Is Great in 2019, scoring her first Number 1 hit with the song “Maybe It’s Not Our Fault.” The EP also contained the single “See You Again,” which peaked at Number 38 on the Gaon Digital Chart. Her proper studio debut, Every Letter I Sent You, saw the light in 2019 and reached Number 2 in South Korea, followed by 2020’s Tellusboutyourself. On October 2, 2025, Baek released her 3rd album, Flash and Core.
