Axegrinder, a British thrash metal and crustcore group from London, was formed in 1986 following the dissolution of Tyrants of Hate. The band released their debut demo Grind the Enemy later that year and recorded a live demo titled The Squat Tape (1988). This caught the attention of Paul âHammyâ Halmshaw from Peaceville Records, leading to a signing with the label. Axegrinder's debut album Rise of the Serpent Men was released in May 1988. Despite plans for further releases, the band disbanded in 1989 after a poorly attended performance in Islington. Notable posthumous releases include Still Grinding Enemies (Studio and Live Tapes) and the single "My Plague Queen" released in 2017.
