Augie Meyers (born 31â¯Mayâ¯1940 in Sanâ¯Antonio, Texas) was an American keyboardist, guitarist, pianist, accordionist and singer. He rose to prominence in the early 1960s as a founding member of the Sirâ¯Douglasâ¯Quintet, where his Vox organ defined the groupâs sound. After the Sir Douglas Quintet, he worked with Dougâ¯Sahm and later coâfounded the Texasâ¯Tornados, playing piano for the ensemble. Augie Meyersâ solo albums include Westernâ¯Headâ¯Musicâ¯Co. (1971), Whiteâ¯Boy (1992), Blameâ¯Itâ¯onâ¯Love (2002), and Theâ¯Realâ¯TexâMex (2015). He collaborated with Johnâ¯&â¯Mary on Victoryâ¯Gardens (1991) and recorded with Bobâ¯Dylan on Timeâ¯Outâ¯ofâ¯Mind (1997). Augieâ¯Meyers died on 7â¯Marchâ¯2026.
