Annie de Reuver (born Anna Maria Clasina de Reuver) was a Dutch jazz and light music singer, record producer, and talent scout from Rotterdam, born on February 19, 1917. Recognized as one of the most popular orchestra singers in the Netherlands during the 1940s and 1950s, De Reuver began her career in 1934 with The Ramblers. In 1946, she became the lead vocalist for The Skymasters. Her signature song, âKijk eens in de poppetjes van mijn ogenâ, was first recorded in 1952. In 1968, De Reuver transitioned to record production at Dureco, where she discovered artists including Ben Cramer, Oscar Harris, and Pierre Kartner. She later worked for the Telstar label and produced the 1987 hit âKleine jodeljongenâ for Manke Nelis. Her discography includes the albums De grootste successen van Annie de Reuver (1971) and Favorieten van toen (1995). De Reuver received the Gouden Harp and the Erasmusspeld in 1994. De Reuver died in Rotterdam on January 1, 2016.
