Biography

Anna Lesko, born Anna Stepanivna Lyzhychko on January 10, 1979, in ChiÈinÄu, Republic of Moldova, is a Moldovan-Romanian singer who moved to Romania at 17. Her music career began in 2002 with the single "Ard Ã®n flÄcÄri" ("Burning in Flames") from her debut album FlÄcÄri (Flames). In 2003, she released Inseparabili (Inseparable), earning a gold disc in Romania. Her third album, Pentru tine (For You), followed in 2004. Lesko's hits frequently topped Romaniaâs Top 40, with "Anicyka Maya" peaking at number 2 for a month in 2005. She signed with Cat Music in 2007 and released the single "1001 DorinÈe" (1001 Wishes).
