Anamanaguchi are a groundbreaking chiptune and electro-rock band from New York City, formed in 2004 by Peter Berkman, Ary Warnaar, James DeVito, and Luke Silas. They are known for fusing the 8-bit sounds of vintage video game consoles with high-energy punk and electronic elements. Early releases like the Power Supply EP (2006) and Dawn Metropolis Preview (2009) established their signature blend of digital and traditional instruments, while 2013âs Endless Fantasyâfunded by a record-breaking Kickstarterâcemented their reputation with 22 tracks of vibrant, genre-defying music. The band also composed the soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game (2010) and contributed to the animated series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (2023), bringing their playful, pixel-inspired sound to pop culture. In 2019, Anamanaguchi released [USA], a more introspective and socially conscious album, showing their growth beyond chiptune.
