Biography

Ana Pupedan, a music group from Pivka, was founded in 1992 by Simon Avsec (vocals, violin), Boštjan Požar (guitar, clarinet), Peter Žnidaršič (bass guitar), and Marko Doles (drums). The group's name, often mistaken for a woman's name, translates to "One in the afternoon" in the local Slovene dialect. Their debut album An je pupedan jü was released in 1995 and was reissued in 1998. The band continued with releases such as Ante prupagandni balar (1998) and Brez imena (2002). In 2010, they released Na domači brjači, followed by Dobrodelni koncert ob 15. obletnici in 2012 and Besne pesmi in 2017. In 2022, the group released Naši u kantini.
