Biography

American Princes, an indie rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas, United States, formed in 2003 when David Slade, John Beachboard, and Matthew Quin moved to Little Rock from New York City. Within their first year, they met guitarist Collins Kilgore and released their debut album We Are the People (2003) on Max Recordings. After their first national tour in 2004, American Princes released their second album Little Spaces (2005), also on Max Recordings. Luke Hunsicker joined the band in support of Little Spaces. The band signed with Yep Roc Records and recorded Less and Less (2006) at Richmond’s Sound of Music studio with producer Alan Weatherhead. Guitarist Will Boyd also joined the band that band. Their album Other People, released in 2007, was voted Number 1 on Magnet Magazine's Best Albums of 2008 list. Bassist Luke Hunsicker died of brain cancer in August 2010.
