Biography

Daughters of Brian Poole, singer and leader of The Tremeloes, Karen and Sherry Poole formed the duo Alisha's Attic in 1996, having recorded under the name Keren & Chelle since 1988. Their first single under the new name, "I Am, I Feel", proved to be their biggest international success, charting at #14 in the UK, followed by "Alisha Rules the World" (#12), which fared less well outside the country. Both tracks, along with follow-up singles "Indestructible" and "Air We Breathe" (both No. 12), are included on the platinum-selling album Alisha Rules the World(No. 14). The duo scored further hits with "The Incidentals", "Wish I Were You" and "Barbarella", from the album Illumina (#15 in 1998), followed by "Push It All Aside" and "Pretender Got My Heart" in 2001, included on The House We Built (#55). Following the split, The Collection compilation (2003) was released. The sisters went on to write songs for Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Will Young and Sugababes, while in 2009 Shelly Poole formed the band Red Sky July with her husband Ally McErlaine (ex-Texas).
